President & Public Relations
Aliliywa Mbise
RN, BSN
Aliliywa has been part of MMTHC since its founding in 2002 and has served on the Board since 2018. She brings a strong healthcare background in adult and pediatric emergency medicine, shaped by her education at Northern Illinois University and Carthage College and her work at Children’s Hospital Wisconsin.
With extensive nonprofit and volunteer leadership experience, she is committed to advancing MMTHC’s mission through thoughtful, collaborative governance.

Secretary
Judy Amundsen
SLP, MS-CCP
Judy is a retired Speech Pathologist with 32 years of experience in orthopedic schools, hospital rehabilitation, and early childhood settings. She earned her undergraduate degree in Communicative Disorders from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and her master’s degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
Deeply committed to community service in Racine, WI, she has served on numerous executive boards and has been Secretary on the MMTHC Board since 2015.

Treasurer
Anna-Lisa Mbise
Anna-Lisa has served on the MMTHC Board since 2021 and has been part of the organization since its founding​. With a background in business, she brings professional experience in business operations and administration, event planning and management, marketing and web design, along with a highly organized and detail-oriented approach.
She also volunteers her time managing Kumbe Coffee LLC, supporting its operations and growth. As the daughter of MMTHC's founders, she is honored to help advance the mission of expanding access to quality healthcare.

Ashley Webber
RN, BSN
Ashely is a pediatric emergency room nurse with five years of experience caring for children and families in high-acuity settings. She has also spent over 20 years with children as a volunteer coach, which has shaped her passion for advocacy, education and compassionate care.

Ashley is deeply committed to giving back to the community, whether that's at home in Wisconsin or through global health efforts in Tanzania. She is honored to support access to quality care wherever it is needed.

Jill Wanggaard
RN, MSP, FNP
Jill has been a member of the Mt. Meru Tumaini Health Clinc Board for over 10 years. She has been a Nurse Practitioner for the last 30 years and a registered nurse for 47 years. She went to Tanzania and visited the clinic in 2008 and again in 2013, where she sutured a patient with a machete wound using a head lamp because there was no electricity. Experiencing the difference between the kind of medicine in Tanzania, and medicine in the US.
Jill enjoys being part of this Board and working with everyone associated with this amazing clinic!

Board Member
Leigh Levas
​She is a board-certified medical technologist with over 20 years of experience in clinical laboratory science, including work at Versiti Blood Center, a Level 1 trauma center, and ProHealth Care Laboratories. She served for 12 years on the Wisconsin board of the Arthritis Foundation, where she led fundraising events and supported programs for children with juvenile arthritis.
After visiting the MMTHC clinic and working closely with the staff, she looks forward to contributing her healthcare expertise, nonprofit experience and support for events and fundraising in service of MMTHC's mission.

Community Outreach
Dr. Valerie Mckinnis, MD
Dr. Valerie completed her undergraduate and medical training at Loyola University Chicago and a Family Medicine residency at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver. She has practiced medicine on the Navajo and Southern Ute reservations. She currently works as VP of Innovation/CMIO at AdventHealth.

Passionate about global health, she has provided care to underserved communities in several countries, including Mexico, Ecuador and Peru, as well as Tanzania, where she built lasting relationships within the Ndoombo Community.

Board Member - Tanzanian Liaison
Exaudh Mbise
Exaudh is a founding member of the Mt. Meru Tumaini Health Clinic and volunteers as liaison. He works closely with local staff, coordinates annual service trip travel, serves as translator, and helps ensure operations run smoothly on the ground in Tanzania.

Exaudh is also a Systems Administrator with experience supporting reliable and secure IT infrastructure.

Medical Director
Dr. Jill Hilty
Dr. Jill has worked as Medical Director for MMTHC since 2016, brining deep clinical expertise and a strong commitment to mission-driven care. She earned her medical education at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Dr. Hilty practices family medicine at Appleton Clinics and is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine.
Her work extends globally as a Medical Teams International disaster relief physician and as a shipboard doctor with National Geographic, reflecting her dedication to care in both local and international settings.
